On September 19, 2024, FinCEN issued another resource to familiarize small business owners with beneficial ownership reporting requirements. The toolkit includes general background on the reporting requirements, as well as templates for newsletters, websites, and emails; sample social media posts and images; and information on how to contact FinCEN.
The beneficial ownership reporting requirements are mandated by the Corporate Transparency Act, enacted to curb illicit finance by supporting law enforcement efforts. According to FinCEN, the templates and sample content included in the toolkit have been structured to easily tailor the message for each reporting organization.
