Video Webinar: Fair Lending Bootcamp
Fair lending violations can result in serious consequences. Whether the consequence is a referral to the Department of Justice, a monetary fine, or an exam violation, fair lending should be considered a high-risk area for any lender.
We believe that fair lending is, and will continue to be, not only one of the highest-risk regulations, but also one of the most complex rules for lenders to comply with. Simple mistakes can get your organization into big trouble, so it is important to understand the nuances of fair lending requirements.
Our Fair Lending Bootcamp is designed to provide attendees with a deep dive into the world of fair lending. The program starts out with an introduction to fair lending where attendees get a history of fair lending and understand the three types of discrimination recognized by the courts. After this, attendees take a deep dive into Regulation B (Subpart A) and then take a look as some of the applicable aspects of the Fair Housing Act, including the Fair Housing Poster, advertising requirements, and redlining. The program then concludes with a review of fair lending risk indicators and even discusses a few fair lending hot topics. (See below for the full curriculum of what is covered in the Fair Lending Bootcamp.)
This program includes 7 different videos and is designed as a full-day virtual seminar, meaning that this is a very comprehensive program which covers far more than what could be addressed in your average 2-hour webinar. Among other things, our instructor goes through a list of fair lending risk indicators to help attendees understand what practices could be a problem in their organizations, provides a number of fair lending examples, offers tips to reduce fair lending risk, and even provides a bit of fun to an often-times boring topic.
This program - which includes 4 different training manuals that can be used as a reference long after attending the program - will most likely leave you with a to-do list of items to follow-up on so that you can work to reduce the fair lending risk in your organization.
Who should attend?
While we present this program in a way that those new to fair lending can easily follow along, seasoned lenders and experienced compliance professionals would also benefit from the Fair Lending Bootcamp’s deep dive into fair lending as we provide plenty of examples and review many somewhat complex topics that could affect every organization. Specifically, this program would be beneficial for compliance officers and compliance analysts, loan managers, loan officers, loan processors, risk managers, auditors, corporate trainers, mortgage company lenders, and those responsible for any areas where fair lending violations could occur - which is almost anywhere.
